I am a hard-working, self-motivated, determined individual with 16 years of proven experience in social work practice-Children & Families arena, Disability field, and Adults. I am a good team player and able to use my initiative to achieve organisation's objectives. Organised and effective communicator at all levels. I am further dedicated to maintaining high-quality standards in all work carried out to ensure children’s welfare is promoted and are able to achieve and have good outcomes.
I have continuously reflected on my own values and my perception of groups of individuals where there are stigmas for groups of people with mental health, and those who use substances as a coping mechanism. I have reflected that it may not be possible to easily change all the adversities which families experience. However, I am mindful that promoting and supporting protective factors can help reduce the negative effects by altering the child's perceptions of, or exposure to the risk of harm.
I have worked within a family-focused model, a strength-based approach determined to improve outcomes for the child/ren in the family context. I have provided the right support at the right time to help children and families overcome their difficulties. I am mindful that I need to deliver meaningful interventions and create lasting change for families and children. I am further mindful and had at the forefront of my mind that children are supported within their own family/community wherever possible; their identity and sense of belonging are nurtured and respected.
