2. Payment Services

2.1 HostRooster Payment Services

By using Payment Services, you agree to comply with this Payment Policy. HostRooster may temporarily limit or suspend your access to Payment Services or their features for maintenance or to ensure their proper functioning. We may also enhance, modify, or introduce new Payment Services, providing notice to Members of any significant changes, unless they do not materially increase your contractual obligations or decrease your rights under this Payment Policy.

2.2 Third-Party Services

Payment Services may include links to third-party websites or resources (“Third-Party Services”). Third-Party Services are governed by their own terms of service and privacy policies, which Members should review. HostRooster is not responsible or liable for the use of Third-Party Services, and links to such services do not constitute an endorsement by HostRooster.

2.3 Your HostRooster Account

HostRooster may enable features that allow you to authorize other Members or third parties to take certain actions affecting your HostRooster account. You acknowledge and agree that anyone authorized to use your account may use Payment Services on your behalf, and you will be responsible for any payments made by such persons.

2.4 Verification

You authorize HostRooster, directly or through third parties, to make inquiries to verify your identity and information. This may include screening against third-party databases, requesting reports from service providers, obtaining government identification, or confirming ownership of your email address, Payment Method(s), or Payout Method(s). HostRooster reserves the right to limit access to Payment Services if unable to obtain or verify this information.

2.5 Additional Terms

Certain Payment Services may have additional terms and conditions. In case of a conflict between these Payment Terms and specific Payment Service terms and conditions, the latter will prevail, unless specified otherwise.

3. Guest Terms

3.1 Adding a Payment Method

When you add a Payment Method to your HostRooster account, you’ll provide billing information, including your name, billing address, and financial instrument details, either to HostRooster or our third-party payment processor(s). You authorize HostRooster and its payment service providers to collect and store your Payment Method information.

3.2 Payment Method Verification

HostRooster may verify a Payment Method by authorizing it for nominal amounts via a payment service provider, requiring confirmation of those amounts, or requesting a billing statement upload. Refunds of these amounts may be initiated from your Payment Method. Once added during checkout, a Payment Method will be saved for future transactions for a specific period, except as specified otherwise.

3.3 Payment Authorization

You authorize HostRooster to charge your Payment Method for all fees due, including taxes, in connection with your HostRooster account, as per our Terms and Section 6 of this Payment Policy.

3.4 Automatic Update of Payment Method

If your Payment Method information changes, we may acquire updated information from our financial partners or your bank to automatically update your Payment Method on file.

3.5 Timing of Payment

HostRooster generally charges the Total Price after a Host accepts your booking request. However, alternative payment options may be offered, with associated fees displayed during checkout. Additional terms may apply for these options.

3.6 Currency

Transactions will be processed in the currency you select via the HostRooster Platform, subject to limitations based on factors such as your Payment Method, country of residence, and contracting entity(ies). Any restrictions will be communicated via the HostRooster Platform.

3.7 Booking Request Status

Refunds and release of authorizations apply if a booking request is declined, canceled, or HostRooster cancels the booking, as per Section 5.5.

3.8 Payment Restrictions

HostRooster reserves the right to decline or limit payments for reasons related to risk management, policy violations, unauthorized or fraudulent activity, or unacceptable risks.

3.9 Payment Service Providers

Payment Methods may involve third-party payment service providers, and additional fees may apply. Review their terms of use before using your Payment Method.

3.10 Your Payment Method, Your Responsibility

HostRooster is not responsible for losses due to incorrect Payment Method information provided by you.

3.11 Different Ways to Pay

  • Payment Plan: HostRooster may offer the option to pay a portion of the Total Price at booking and the remainder before check-in (“Payment Plan”), subject to availability and specific terms.
